Reichley plans to attend July 13 informational meeting 

Rep. Doug Reichley (R-Berks/Lehigh) is announcing a public meeting scheduled for 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 13, at the Upper Macungie Township Administration Building on 8330 Schantz Road in Breinigsville to discuss issues with developments administered by TH Properties (THP), which has suspended work on these neighborhoods.

“For more than a year now, I have heard numerous concerns after THP stopped work on several local developments, causing concerns among local residents,” said Reichley.  “I hope this meeting finally provides some answers to residents about what will be happening next.” 

Representatives of TH Properties, National Penn Bank, Upper Macungie Township and the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) are expected to attend this meeting. 

THP, a home builder, is facing financial difficulties as a result of the downturn in the housing market and suspended operations more than a year ago.  The company has numerous unfinished construction projects in two developments – neighborhood improvements in the Whitfield Estates development in Upper Macungie Township, and several minor neighborhood improvements in Annadale in Lower Macungie Township – that have raised concerns among residents of those communities.   

In Whitfield Estates, there are unfinished roads, poor maintenance of undeveloped properties, storm water issues and erosion concerns resulting from the suspension of development activities. 

“I have been following this situation closely, but at this meeting, residents of the affected neighborhoods will be able to ask questions and offer comments about the status of these projects,” said Reichley.
